My office is the studio in which we create together.
My teachers have provided the artist's techniques that we use to connect to spiritual inspiration.

My Teachers
Everyone's path is illuminated by those who have gone before. I want to use this 'About Us' page to honor three of the people who have personally taught and inspired me most in my hypnotherapy career.
Dr. Jeanne was my first hypnosis teacher. She was affiliated with the American Board of Hypnotherapy, from whom I received my first hypnosis certification.
What an amazing lady she was. Dr. Jeanne seemed to personally know everybody who was anybody in the field of hypnosis. Into her seventies, she still loved to attend seminars and workshops, meeting people and picking up new ideas and techniques.
She worked with me one-on-one in a kind of master-apprentice relationship. She exposed me to a dizzying array of styles and teachings, combining the best of the old masters of hypnosis with the hottest new cutting-edge techniques.
Dr. Jeanne passed away in 2004. I imagine she's now on a grand tour of the universe, meeting new people, seeing new places, and having a great time doing it.
Dick Sutphen was an author, artist, psychic seminar leader, spiritual hypnotherapist, trance researcher, producer of over 300 hypnotic CDs, and all around awesome California New Age guru.
In the late 70's I picked up a copy of his inspirational book, “You Were Born Again to be Together.” This paperback study contained several case histories relating to 'soulmates,' couples who reincarnate to be together, over and over again. I had already become fascinated with the concept of Past Lives, and this book had such a spiritual flavor, and a ring of truth. As a teenage mystic and an incurable romantic, it was food for my mind and heart.
Years passed, and eventually my fascination with Past Life Regression vaulted me into the world of hypnosis. It was exciting for me, like coming full circle, to finally meet Mr. Sutphen while taking his Past Life Regression training. I continue to use many of his techniques because of their effectiveness and their high spirituality.
While haunting the bookshelves in a local library, I stumbled across Dr. Newton's groundbreaking work, “Journey of Souls.” Reading about his discoveries of Soul Groups, Councils of Elders, and Life Selection rooms, I was mesmerized. Familiar as I was with metaphysics and spirituality, I felt my mind going, “What?!” This was something new, way beyond reincarnation, reaching back into our rich and beautiful spiritual existence as souls.
Some time later, after I became a hypnotherapist, I heard through an internet group that Dr. Newton was actually training people in his LBL techniques. In a fateful coincidence, that year's training was to occur in just a few weeks, within 50 miles of my home. Opportunity was knocking; in fact, somebody up there was tapping me on the shoulder.
Michael's LBL trainings are rigorous and demanding, but ultimately so rewarding. I remember driving home after it was all over, looking at people in cars on the freeway, realizing that every single person I saw has a colorful soul history.
An erudite and learned man, in person Michael glows with a charming warmth and caring. I think of Michael as a king, and myself as one of his knights. I've been honored to contribute to his organization in several ways, including assisting at LBL trainings and being a certification case reviewer. Michael continues to mentor all the members of The Newton Institute as we spread his work around the world.
Michael's books are filled with spiritual insights and discoveries, but his real gift to us is his systematic method whereby we can seek our own answers to life's mysteries.
